This show was one of my favorites even as a kid. I was 3 when it started but will never forget the “Rampart…” they used on almost every show. LJN recreated the team of LA firemen John Gage and Roy DeSoto as they hurried around town saving people from all kinds of danger…and sometimes from some not so dangerous missions. In any case, these figures fell along the same lines as LJN’s S.W.A.T. and The Rookies figures using the same 8″ body types…(there was more than one!) coming in both a swivel bicep, hinged/pinned wrist and ankles like Mego Type 2 bodies, and also a ball join where the hands and feet “pop on” to the joints. What this series also gave us was two different cards: Red and Black, two different head sculpt for both the Roy DeSoto and John Gage figure: One serious looking and one smiling like he just got a lollipop from the dentist and two different outfits: blue jackets and tan jackets. There also was their very hard to find red fire truck, accessory sets and the firehouse playset..!
