RedBox introduced another 12″ Gi Joe knockoff back ni the 1970s: Jose. His box had “The Jose Battle Series” at the top of the box. The back of the box had four different military outfits pictured. They followed the same lines as GI Joe, Mister Action, Fighting Yank, and other 12″ vintage figures of the time. The quality of the RedBox figures were not the best. They remind me of plastic kind of as fragile as old china. Obviously they were made to ride the coattails on the popularity of other brands, like Hasbro’s GI Joe. Quite funny the little catch phrase at the bottom of the back of the box, “You will enjoy endless fun and excitement!”.
