Back in the early 80’s, KTAV Publishing House made a hero celebrating the freeing of Jerusalem from the Syrians. Judah Maccabee, aka Little Macc, was born! His head is a Mego Blackbeard head, coupled with a terribly hollow doll body, Mego AJ/Superhero boots in either baby diarrhea brown, or forest green. The outfit consisted of an elastic hat, his garments/robe and of course a thin plastic shield. No weapons at all, but you did get to join and “bee” a Maccabee with the included pin to wear!! This was the celebration of Hanukkah (meaning “rededication”). The 9 lights story is explained fully on the front and back of the card. There was a typo of some sort on the back near the bottom where the type font is off from the rest of the card as if they replaced it after printing of the word “jews”. Also look closely: the menorahs on the card show four position on the left and right of the center post defining the nine lights or nine days of Hanukkah HOWEVER!!!!!!!!.. the child’s pin shows positions with only THREE On each side of the center position showing only SEVEN candles/nights…OYY VEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In any case, he is very difficult to find.
