AHI’s Planet of the Apes unlicensed Mego knockoff figures back in the 1970s! These came in quite a few varieties and shared the same (thank you Ray Sharif Castille!) slanted hip bodies and unjointed wrists as many of their monster and Adventure Man characters. Figures came on a bubble card and are cousins of their 1″ larger Tong’s Action Apeman series. The head sculpts were basically a Mego Dr. Zaius looking orangutan, or an odd chimpanzee. Clothes variations and colors were vast and ranged from plain material to “suede-like”. They each came with a pair of tall boots (not Mego) and a plastic rifle. The colors of these were typically black or a reddish brown.
