Back in the 1970s when the Planet of the Apes movies and tv shows were all the rage, there was a model toy manufacture In the heart of Brooklyn, NY. The Addar company produces all kinds of plastic styrene model kits, but the most appealing ones in this gallery are for the Planet of the Apes. There were seven models in all. Each model was a snap together kit (making it easier for younger hands to build) with moving arms at the shoulders and some minor other body part movement. The artwork on these is spectacular!! It was so spectacular that the Polar Lights toy company, using the Aurora name it purchased remade four of the seven with the original molds. The original seven are: Zira, Cornelius, Dr. Zaius, General Ursus and their 3 harder to find sets: General Aldo, Caesar and Stallion and Soldier (soldier ape on horseback) which can fetch in the neighborhood of $800-$1000 at this time. Aurora later made Zira, Cornelius, Dr. Zaius, and General Ursus only. Not sure why, but probably lost molds? In any case, we have all seven Addar model POTA kits here and there Aurora counterparts below. Enjoy!!

The Ursus kit is actually General Aldo from Battle for the Planet of the Apes with an Ursus head.
The General Aldo kit is just a generic soldier from the same movie.
The stallion from the Stallion & Soldier kit was previously released on its own. The soldier and tack were added later.
