Durham Industries 5″,9″,10 & 12″ with Automatic Pushbutton Action

Yes, the cheap of the cheaps knockoff toy company Durham Industries in the 1970s made a ton of 5″ action figure on bubble cards with some kind of pushbutton action with their right arm. They also made an 8″ figure who resembles Bruce lee with both and arm and leg action. Durham sold these figures under their own name and F.W. Woolworth’s also, so completing the collection means getting both!! They had no qualms about stealing rom other company’s ideas. For example, there is a Safari Hunter series which ripped off Louis Marx Toys’ Safari Adventure. They made a Daredevil Rider which was cashing in on the Evil Knievel craze of the 1970s. You will also find an odd character, Glump, who happens to be a caveman, an Army ranger, a Cycle Cop, a Fireman, a western set with both a Cowboy and an Indian (Native American nowadays). The 5″ Yung Kung Fu figure is an absolute steal from the 1970’s series Kung Fu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rvu5YcmYhSQ.) It looks just like Kwai Chang Kane as the young boy. They made all kinds of wind up toys and items that were nothing more than cheap toys you could beg your grandparents for. The 8″ Kung Fu figure has a terrible habit of its glue leaking out of its joints and therefore ruining the clothes and window box the figure came in. It’s a shame as the artwork on the box is “sooooo 70’s!” and just reeks “awesome”!
