Thanks to Brian Sanchez, a long time Lone Ranger and Tonto collector! Halco and Kusan were the same company. Before the days of Ben Cooper, Halco was the premier maker of children’s costumes. That old plastic mask with the eyes cut out, a hole in the mouth and/or nose for breathing and that “be careful, you might rip it or tear the plastic ties on the side off” vinyl smock was a specialty of theirs. Incidentally, today they are still making costumes…but of the Santa variety (halcoholidays.com), but the old vintage style is no longer unfortunately made. (** Thanks to the Universal Monster Army and Rich Hurley for information on these.)
