Who loves ya, baby? A wonderful 8″ Kojak toy including a cigar and a few lollipops…seriously? Yes! But they are tiny and to scale so good luck finding them if you lose them!!! What kid did NOT lose them in 5 seconds after opening the package! The hands are molded to hold a gun, cigar or lollipop. They are the same style hands as on Excel’s 9″ Western Series which eventually became Empire Toys (they bough Excel Toys). The Headquarters set was a Sears Catalog exclusive and was a foldable paper setup. It came with all of his accessories in baggies and included a bad guy. The bad guy is actually the Butch Cavendish knockoff figure from Mort Alexander, also known as Mortoys. The figures come right from the tv series in the 1970s. I honestly thought it was more of an adult program, but i was young so who knows and back then times were much simpler so celebrities were fewer. Enjoy the gallery dedicated to the man himself!

What a fantastic looking playset. Kojak figures look fantastic and they went all out with the trade mark accessories. If I collected Mego style figures Kojak would be in my collection.
so these are absolutely fantastic! they share the same “trigger finger” as the 9″ versions. I remember my friend bringing this figure home back in the 1970s. The lollipops and cigars are TO SCALE! not sure how any child had possession of these for more than 2 minutes before they were lost! The prices on these have skyrocketed…insane! That playset is nothing more than paperboard. The pink plastic phone was a gumball machine item and cracks me up that Kojak would have a pink phone in the “princess model” of the time. The bad guy is the Mort Alexander figure who’s idea is Butch Cavendish knockoff with a Marx Sam Cobra head knockoff. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for this great page.
I have one of those 8″ figure with a hole in the mouth for the cigar.
I’m wondering if it could be factory made, because the hole doesn’t seems hand made, and the cigar has an outgrowth to not remove it easily (attached photo).
